The book describes the several Russian institutions which presently hold original Siloti materials. In America, there are two primary archives of interest to scholars of the era and persons described, and to lay readers generally.
INTERNATIONAL PIANO ARCHIVE at MARYLAND (IPAM)
This superb holding is located at the University of Maryland in College Park. It includes many collections of well-known pianists. It also incorporates the personal archive of Kyriena Siloti, a distinguished teacher in her own right and upholder of her father's school and tradition.
ALEXANDER SILOTI ARCHIVE AT STANFORD
This new archive, comprising materials collected by Maria Siloti and by the author in preparation of this book, will be open in late 2003. The originals of almost everything which may interest you in the book are to be found here. The Stanford collection will also include some 200 of his manuscripts and printed editions, and be located in the Archive of Recorded Sound, Braun Music Center, Stanford University, Stanford California.
